Healthwatch Reporter Kellye Lynn says the highly publicized drug Chantix is living up to the expectations of doctors and patients. Cigarette smoking is the most preventable cause of death in the US and has been linked to a long list of cancers and chronic illnesses. Now the Food and Drug Administration has given smokers another way to kick the habit. With her hands finally free of cigarettes, Jackie Erlich can focus on other interests. Her 30-year habit is history. "The craving isn't here to have one and that's what makes it so great," she said. What took away the craving for cigarettes is the latest weapon in the quest to quit smoking: Chantix. "The bottom line is it seems to be very effective," said Dr. Joseph Adams.
