Smoking now has become a status symbol in all age groups. Smoking is not only the habit of a person from birth but various factors lead to it. Among the population of America nearly, quarter of adults smoke. Every body is aware about side effects and health problems related to
smoking but they do not quit smoking. It has been observed that most of
the people want to quit smoking but for them it gets very difficult. Most
of the people quit smoking at a particular time and after a gap of years
again start smoking. It is really very difficult to quit smoking because
it is addictive as heroin. In fact, nicotine has actions similar to cocaine
and heroin in the same area of the brain. 1) Mental Performance: It has seen that nicotine improves concentration and thinking ability and stopping smoking impairs it. 2) Stress: Smoking may or may not reduce stress but stopping certainly increases it. 3) Weight Gain: 5-10 pounds of weight gain has been observed in people who quit smoking. Quitting smoking is not very difficult if a person has strong will power
and determination. No drug is going to work until you have not prepared
